Hi every fan of Ritchie's.my is Jim in 1959 I was living in Oxnard a suburb of Oxnard name the Colonia. I was 15 years old at the time when I heard the bad news over the radio that Ritchie Valens the Big bopper and Buddy Holly had all been killed in a plane crash what a tragic day The Day the music died. Little did I know that's a day would come when I move to the San Fernando valley looking for better opportunities. When are my closest friends that I made when I moved to the valley was Johnny Reyes Ritchie Valens cousin. I ended up living with Rich's family on Penny street in pacoima California. Through Johnny Reyes I meant Bobby richest half-brother and Rosie and the whole family Little did I ever know or realize that I was actually related to Richie's father's grandmother Lugo pictures of the same family that my grandfather came from the relation came through was Maria navidad Ruiz Lugo. Johnny Reyes is Mom and Dad and two sisters Francis and Patsy they treated me as a I was a brother. I got a book on Ritchie Valens biography and then it mentioned his father's grandmother. To my surprise with a little research I'm not that we were related. Son of a gun you just never know.
